A very restrained nose leads in to a compact and very long palate. The cherry and spice flavours don't provide flourish or flamboyance on the palate; rather they forge, very seriously, across a predetermined track, straight through to a long finish. Structurally serious and so dense as to almost be sturdy, this is in need of some ageing in order for it to show its significant potential.

Deepish red/purple colour, promising depth and brightness. The bouquet is fresh and bright with deep-set briary and dark cherry aromas, some dark plums, perfumed oak, and lots of depth and promise. The wine is lean and leggy, wiry in texture and yet also refined, tense and elegant. There's a lot of fruit-sweetness in the middle and it's ultimately quite a succulent style of pinot. Gorgeous flavour and oodles of charm.
