Medium-full purple-red colour with very appealing red cherry aromas, laced with spices including star anise and clove. The wine is tightly compact on the mid-palate where it is quite deep and penetrating, with elegance and charm, the tannins mild but gently persuasive. The drinkability is excellent although it's likely the wine will age well and develop interesting tertiary complexities with time. Elegant, fine and long, a very tidy red.

Magnificent fruit is central to this historic blend, where shiraz provides the base and pinot the tannin, energy and detail. The fragrant, nutty oak is prominent right now, though with time, this will melt into the wine to form a treasured savoury accent. And honestly, once one pairs the wine with something savoury, the dynamics change and the oak slips into the background while the fragrant dark fruit prevails. The peacock's tail on the finish is utterly compelling and coaxes one into having another sip. Mighty fine fruit for a wine of this price. One for now and beyond.
