On the cutting edge

Antonio Galloni is an American wine reviewer, formerly a contributor to Robert Parker's internationally acclaimed "Wine Advocate", who specialises in the wines of France, Italy and the US, as well as craft spirits.

His wine career began while still a graduate student at Boston's MIT, founding "Piedmont", the world's first English-language journal focused on Italian wines. Galloni was then recruited by Robert Parker to write for "Wine Advocate", with his expertise being used to cover Champagne, Italian and Californian wines.

When Parker sold a large share of "Wine Advocate" to an overseas investor group in 2013, Galloni struck out on his own and founded "Vinous" — an online wine magazine.

Galloni's goal for Vinous is to push the boundaries of online content for wine; combining interactive tasting notes with video, photography, dynamic layouts and anything else he can muster. His reviews are tight and concise, backed by a breadth of knowledge across three continents that most other professional wine writers can only dream of.

Antonio writes and reviews exclusively for Vinous.
