It’s not often we get grade-A merch for a blockbuster movie. Don’t believe us? Cast your mind back just a few months ago to the *cough cough* “sandworm” Dune 2 popcorn bucket. Yeesh. Memeable merch aside, Aviation American Gin has partnered with Marvel Studios to create the ultimate Ryan Reynolds love child: Limited Edition Aviation American Gin inspired by Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine – the third film in the wildly successful series. Yeah, you heard us, a MOVIE gin that’s actually IN the movie (immediately adds to cart). “I discovered Aviation American Gin while shooting the first Deadpool movie,” says Ryan Reynolds, Aviation American Gin’s co-owner. “Back then Aviation wasn’t big enough to tie into a big summer movie and Deadpool was lucky to get any sponsors at all. A few hundred weeks and drinks later, here we are! They grow up so quickly, don’t they?”
So, what’s different about this particular bottle of gin? Well, it’s been designed by Maximum Effort and Sandstrom Partners, so you know it’s going to look as sleek as anything. And, well, just see for yourself. How groovy is that black glass, red custom strip stamps and metallic deets? Looks just like the slick, black and red suit of the man himself. The bottle is a collector’s item, with each one showing off a different Deadpool icon – six in total. So, make like Pokemon and catch ‘em all (see? We can cross cinematic universes, too).
Each bottle contains the iconic, crisp-yet-smooth Aviation American Gin that we all know and love. Think cardamom, coriander, French lavender, aniseed, sarsaparilla, juniper, and two kinds of orange peel, all beautifully blended and distilled in Portland, America. It’s a super versatile drop and makes for a perfect base in all your fave gin cocktails. Speaking of, Aviation American Gin and the big dogs over at Disney have created a little signature cocktail for the premiere, the Regeneroni: 30mL Aviation American Gin, 15mL bitter red liqueur (AKA Campari) and 7mL Hibiscus syrup stirred down, then added to a rocks glass with a wheel of dried lemon and a giant cube of ice. How good?!
“The Deadpool film franchise has been a cultural phenomenon since its inception,” said Holly Frank, Walt Disney Studios’ VP, Partnership Management and Operations, Marvel in a press release. “We’re so excited to be collaborating with Aviation American Gin to give fans a chance to engage with the world of Deadpool in a whole new way leading up to the eagerly anticipated theatrical release of Deadpool & Wolverine.”
Exclusively for all our fans (My Dan’s members), you can catch the bottle on pre-sale for $72 until July 21. Just note that you can’t choose which of the six bottle designs you receive – lucky dip!
For everyone else, it goes on sale from July 25 and will retail for $89.99 – check with your local store on availability of the different designs if you’re angling for a particular one.
