Four bottles of spirits that make great wintery cocktails on a green background

The weather might be cold, but these deals are on fire.

Each month, she scours the list of 300+ My Dan’s member offers to find her favourite deals – the bottles you’ll definitely want to grab while the price is right. If you live in Broome, I’m mad at you right now. You’re enjoying a balmy top of 31 degrees while I’m withering away under a blanket in Melbourne, wearing two pairs of socks. The plus side? The chilly weather does open the door to some excellent wintery cocktails. And because we all love a bargain (and a cocktail), I’ve pulled together three of my faves, all using bottles that are on My Dan’s member offer right bloody now. So, read on, then head in-store or online to score all of these at killer prices until 11 June.

1. Mandarin Sour

There are only two good things about this time of year if you live in any of the south-eastern states: mandarins and whisky. That’s science. Armed with that knowledge, our team recently came up with a Mandarin Sour recipe that couldn’t be easier or more delicious.

You basically just muddle fresh mandy, skin on, into your shaker before making your Sour. And because mandies are more versatile than Meryl Streep, this recipe works great with vodka, gin, bourbon… you name it. BUT, it truly shines with whisky.

My suggestion? Try it with The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch. It’s a gorgeous little Speyside number that’s sweet, fruity and mellow – AKA it’s not going to punch you in the face, it’s just a perfect Scotch for mixing (at a fabulous price, too).

2. Hot Winter Spritz

Here’s a fun fact: waving goodbye to summer does not have to mean waving goodbye to Aperol Spritzes. You can make a Hot Winter Spritz – and just hear me out because it’s worth it.

All you need is Aperol (which you want to be stocked up on anyway), prosecco, cloudy apple juice and a cinnamon stick. Served warm, it’s bittersweet, spiced and perfect for the cooler months ahead. Lucky for you, Aperol is currently on special offer for My Dan’s members.

And as for the prosecco, I recommend you opt for something nice and dry (and also on offer) like Maschio Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. This stunner is excellent drinking in or out of a Spritz.

3. Dan’s Hot Chocolate

Guys, grown-up hot chocolate is what dreams are made of. Rich, velvety, spiced – it’s exactly what you want while curled up on the couch watching 12 episodes of Friends

Our Dan’s Hot Chocolate recipe uses milk, bay leaf, cloves and cocoa powder, but there are two make-or-break ingredients you’ll especially want to nail. The first is a block of choccy – could be milk choc, choc-mint, hazelnut, or whatever your little heart yearns for, just make it a good one. The second, of course, is a solid vodka.

Reyka is a small-batch vodka, crafted in Iceland from the purest of spring water. It’s as smooth as a jazz sax solo, with a price you can’t deny.
