Got a few parties to attend? We’ve rounded up some of the hottest new RTDs and premixes to pack in your cooler bag.

Taylor Swift reckons it’s a Cruel Summer, but we think it’s actually a Premix Summer. You heard it here first. Now, there are many of these premixed drinks to choose from as the weather heats up – each one capturing unique artisanal flavours better than the next. So, to make it a little easier, we’ve pulled together  six of the best new premixes, seltzers and canned cocktails to drink this summer. Eskies, baths and beach cooler bags at the ready!

1. Fellr x Messina Sorbet Series

Is there anything Gelato Messina can’t do? We think not. They have stores across most of the country (and even two in Hong Kong), but if you’re in one of the states that has yet to be blessed by their mastery, we have a treat for you. In the past, they’ve collabed to whip up sunscreen, craft beers, festive treats, body washes and even lube! Next on the list: seltzers that taste like Messina's sorbets. Our summer prayers have been answered. Alongside seltzer wizards Fellr, they’ve come out with a 10-pack of cans in Messina’s most refreshing sorbet flavours – we’re talking yuzu, blood orange, salted coconut, and mango. It’s basically like swapping a cone for a can with plenty of that Messina pizzazz you know and love. We have a feeling these seltzers will fly off the shelves because who doesn’t love the idea of a sorbet-flavoured seltzer? Coming to an esky near you this summer.

2. Brookvale Union Vodka Orange

Our next cab off the rank is Brookvale Union’s Vodka Orange Cans. Vodka and orange are BFFs (think the Screwdriver, Sex on the Beach, or even our Side Eye cocktail) and this ridiculously refreshing, extra-punchy number proves why the two get along like a house on fire. These flavours are crafted for high energy and a damn good time, so we suggest cracking it before you head off to your favourite summer musical festival. In other words, it’s made for pre-drinks on a hot day. This drink is also awarded extra points for its can’s psychedelic artwork – just look at the monkey! He knows how to have a good time.

3. Monsuta Pineapple Chūhai 7.3%

If you’re not already obsessed with chūhais – the canned shōchū highballs made famous in Japan – you’re about to be. Monsuta got us into it in 2023 with their Lemon Chūhai but now it’s pineapple’s turn and we are mad for it. A blend of vodka, shōchū and soda, these double-serve Monsuta Pineapple Chūhais use a traditional Okinawan shōchū called Awamori that’s indigenous and unique to the region. A genie couldn’t magic up a better summer drink if they tried.

4. Mountain Goat Pink Gin and Soda

If you thought Mountain Goat only dabbled in beer, think again. They welcomed their 500L hybrid still (called Mabel) to the family a few years ago and have been crafting some very tasty spirits ever since. Now they’ve put out a Pink Gin and Soda (it’s exclusive to Dan’s), crafted with a classic London dry-style gin (that they make themselves, TYVM) then expertly blended with hibiscus extract and natural berry flavours. It’s got a gorgeous bright pink appearance that’s almost too good-looking for the can, so feel free to pour it into a glass filled with ice if an aesthetically pleasing beverage is your thing. It’s refreshingly bubbly with floral notes and ripe, juicy berry flavours. Summer, canned.

5. Billson’s Vodka Tangle

If you’re a premix person, you already know Billson’s are the local heroes of sweet, fruity flavours that take you straight back to your childhood pick ’n’ mix. Handcrafted in Victoria’s Beechworth, the Billson’s Vodka Tangle will keep you guessing with its raspberry-meets-orange-meets-lemon flavour – a real tangle of fruity fun, if you will. It’s made with triple-distilled vodka, which is crafted using alpine spring water from their very own well. Lightly sparkled, it’s ready to drink at this weekend’s picnic in the park.

6. Jose Cuervo Sparkling Margarita Fiesta 10-Pack

So, you want that Margarita taste sans the work of actually shaking the cocktail? Fair enough. Chances are you’ll want to enjoy a refreshing beverage when the temperature is soaring, and nobody wants to get sweaty while shaking a cocktail. Enter Jose Cuervo’s Sparkling Margarita Fiesta Pack: the ideal purchase ahead of a backyard party with all your mates. Think of these as a Margarita-meets-Spritz hybrid. Each can has been expertly mixed with authentic Jose Cuervo tequila and triple sec, alongside natural fruit flavours; choose from Classic Lime, Watermelon and an exclusive Pink Grapefruit. If zesty and refreshing is your goal, you can’t go wrong with these.
