A sink full of drinks in ice ready for a party

Whether it’s Champagne, cider, a ready-made Spritz or something else, here’s how to ring in 2026.

New Year’s Eve. For some, it’s the most exciting day of the year: parties, sparklers, a dusty music festival in the middle of nowhere. For others, there’s nothing more enjoyable than a Queer Eye marathon and falling asleep after the 9pm fireworks (guilty). But whether you make it to the last minute of the year or wake up on the couch in the next one, your New Year’s Eve deserves a drink that sparkles.

So, happy new year. We hope 2025 has been everything you dreamed it would be, but if it hasn’t, well, there’s always next year. These are the drinks to help you ring in 2026.

1. Grant Burge Pinot Noir Chardonnay

There’s nothing we love more than a bargain, and when it’s a bottle of Aussie sparkles from Grant Burge? Well, that’s what we call a no-brainer. My Dan’s members can usually score a bottle of the pinot noir chardonnay for under 20 bucks. It has notes of biscuits, strawberries and peaches. Pair it with a tray of oysters and your best friends.

2. Pirie Sparkling NV

It’s kind of outrageous the bang-for-buck that Pirie Sparkling NV offers, and you know we love a Tassie sparkling (they just do it so well, don’t they?). This one is made from handpicked pinot noir and chardonnay grapes – expect notes of apple, citrus and a sneaky biscuit or two. We’re taking this bottle to Mum’s to watch the fireworks, and here’s hoping she’s serving up a big wheel of brie.

3. Louis Roederer Collection

Ooh la la, Louis Roederer. This multi-vintage Champagne is for those who are looking to splurge. Maybe you’re staying in but going all out. Or maybe you’re headed to a roaring ‘20s themed party, flapper dress at the ready. Regardless, this bottle deserves a place at your celebration. This is a chardy-dominant Champagne, but it also has a little pinot noir and pinot meunier. You’ll taste sweet fruits and a hint of oak. Staying in? Go for a bougie spread of sushi and sashimi. Heading out? Make a plate of prosciutto-wrapped melon – it’s the perfect addition to a summer barbecue or a picnic in the park.
$102.99 each

4. Dal Zotto Pucino Prosecco

If you’re a prosecco fan, it’s likely you’re already familiar with Dal Zotto’s Pucino Prosecco. It’s bright, fresh and crisp as hell. There’s notes of apple, pear, lemon and some white peach. We love the Pucino with salty snacks like prosciutto, salted nuts, olives and a bag or two of Chappy’s (IYKYK), but we also love it served in a Mimosa alongside smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels on New Year’s Day.

5. Coopers Sparkling Ale

Picture this: your mate is having everyone around for NYE and you rock up with Coopers Sparkling Ale longnecks (retro) – you’re instantly elevated to legend status among your friends. The red-label ale is gold in the glass, bold and fruity, and it has that signature malt and hoppiness. Pair it with a Chinese banquet and many, many fried pork dumplings.

6. Espolon Sparkling Margarita

Margaritas had a big moment in 2025 and we think it’s highly likely that will continue into 2026, so it only makes sense to BYO a four-pack of Espolon Sparkling Marg Cans to NYE. The base is Espolon’s Blanco Tequila, along with lime and triple sec that’s been lightly carbonated to bring that bubbly effervescence. Pair it with a big bowl of guac, corn chips and your closest pals.

8. Kylie Minogue 0% Sparkling Rosé

We still can’t get Kylie’s 0% Sparkling Rosé out of our heads, and if you’re going alcohol-free for the New Year, then this is the perfect bottle of sparkling (sans alcohol) to start with. The princess of pop’s 0% wines are made with premium grapes that are fermented with good bacteria instead of yeast (omitting the yeast means alcohol isn't created) and then infused with hand-picked teas. It’s full of strawberry flavours, and when we asked Kylie for the best food pairing she said: “It’s an Aussie icon, so let’s get the barbie going.” Say no more. We’re hosting, tell your mates.

8. Zonzo Estate Zoncello Limoncello Spritz

Did you know everyone’s favourite ready-to-drink Spritz now comes in a can? It’s a blend of Zonzo’s iconic limoncello and fizzy prosecco. You can totally serve this baby over ice with a lemon wedge, but we also love it straight out of the esky (or fridge) in its can before you head to that music gig you booked back in June.

9. Tread Softly Pinot Noir Bagnum

The bagnum has had a real revival in over the past couple of years – they’re just so convenient and, like 0%* drinks, they just keep getting better. We were already big fans of the Tread Softly Pinot Noir, so when the team went and put it in a ready-to-go bag, they had our attention. This 1.5L portable pinot noir can go just about anywhere on NYE – the picnic, the park, the house party, you name it. It’s light with lots of strawberries, black cherries and a lick of spice. Fire up the barbie and serve with a few snags and steaks.

10. Somersby Apple Sparkling Cider

We love how fresh, bright and fizzy cider can be, and Somersby Apple Sparkling Cider is all apples with a hint of sweetness. That makes it absolutely perfect for right now in our books. And while these drinks are meant to be for New Year’s Eve, trust us – this is going to hit the spot on the first of January, too. When the aircon is working overtime and the group chat is going off with pics from the night before, just add a Somersby, a ham and cheese toastie, and your new year is off to a great start.
