A jug of Sparkling Strawberry Punch with a stack of glasses

This strawberry delight is as pretty as it is fizzy, fruity and refreshing.

About the cocktail

Like we always say, when life gives you strawberries, make punch. We can’t get enough of these group-friendly cocktails (exhibit a, exhibit b). They’re ideal for entertaining, and work equally well as the star of the show or a background extra. Plus, they can be tailored to the season, the crowd, or whatever you have on hand. So, when it’s all about strawberries, we love the Sparkling Strawberry Punch.

We’ve used pink moscato here, but the beauty of this cocktail is you can dress it up or down any which way you like. Go for Champagne, if that’s your jam, or another type of sparkling – any fizz you like. It makes it an easy and versatile batched cocktail ideal for celebrations, not to mention a major crowd-pleaser. If we had to choose one word to sum up this sensational pink drink, it would have to be ‘vibrant’. Just look at it – you can practically taste its gorgeous, juicy, bubbly sweetness through the screen. The pay-off comes when you actually make it and discover that it tastes even better than it looks.

From the vivid pink hue alone, we can see this being a perfect cocktail for bridal showers and baby showers, but colours and cocktails are for everyone, so feel free to break it out at any occasion.

Freshly blitzed berries, tart citrus and bittersweet Aperol bring the flavour, while pink moscato and soda deliver the bubbles. Top it off with fresh garnishes and you’ve got a drink that’s easy on the eyes and a treat to sip. Our Sparkling Strawberry Punch is sweet, tart and a fizzy good time. What’s not to like?

Ingredients

  • 50mL sugar syrup
  • 50g strawberries
  • 50mL fresh lemon juice
  • 60mL Aperol
  • 250mL pink grapefruit juice
  • 250mL soda
  • 1 x 750mL pink moscato (see tips)
  • Glass: punch bowl, spoon and punch cups
  • Garnish: strawberry slices and mint for the bowl and glasses

Method

  1. Blitz the strawberries and sugar syrup together, then strain
  2. Add all ingredients to a large punch bowl
  3. Gently pour in the moscato
  4. Add strawberry slices and mint to the bowl to garnish, adding extra to each glass when serving it up

Dan’s top tips

The fizz in our recipe – pink moscato – delivers colour, flavour and sweetness. However, to reduce the sweetness and elevate it a touch, as we suggested above, feel free to experiment with other sparklings – prosecco brings especially vibrant results.

To level up your presentation game, prepare an extra large ice cube – a couple of days in advance – by freezing sliced strawberries in water in a takeaway container. You can learn more about DIY flavoured ice cubes here.

Not enough fresh strawberries? Or none at all? Try frozen. You’re going to blitz them, after all. And that way, you can save the fresh strawberries for your garnish.
