This might just be the perfect floral Martini for those who find the classic a little overbearing.
About the cocktail
Not to be confused with the Blush Martini, which is a vodka-meets-cranberry-meets-vanilla-liqueur concoction, the Blushing Martini is something else altogether. A delightful mix of gin, rosé vermouth, elderflower and verjuice, it’s the ideal drink for those who find a Classic Martini a little overbearing.
To teach you how to whip one up, we enlisted the help of our friend Emma Hawkins – super mum, entrepreneur, content creator and co-founder of Homegrown Kids. Speaking of mums, this is the perfect drink to treat your mum (or yourself) with on Mother’s Day. Ditch the chocolate-filled mugs, the handmade trinkets and the half-assed breakfast in bed, and make Mum something she actually wants – cocktails! But first, a little intro for our wonderful co-collaborator, Emma.
Emma is one talented mumma. She is the co-founder of Homegrown Kids – a comfortable kid's clothing brand – a digital creator with a huge following (137K followers and counting), and mother to her three kids, Primrose, Arabella and Henry. On her (few) days off, Emma loves being at home. “Just my husband and my family. A paddock barbecue, and my kids running around while my husband and I sit on the chairs with rugs wrapped around us in front of the fire. That’s my kind of heaven,” Emma explains. So, it’s only appropriate that our cocktail collab with Emma should match her day-off energy – light, fun, relaxed and easy-going. “I just love how the Blushing Martini tastes. So feminine and fresh, super easy and it's just such a delight. This is 100% my go-to cocktail.” Take it from Emma, the Blushing Martini is deliciously easy, but it’s also quite the crowd pleaser, so you can sip it with the fam or serve it at your next gathering. “This is a great recipe for when my girlfriends come over. It totally sets the vibe, looks so gorgeous and tastes amazing!” If you'd like to have a go at making the Blushing Martini, have a read of Emma’s top tips for serving this cocktail at home.

Emma’s top tips
“It’s super easy to make and has such a visual effect!” Emma says. And she's totally right – the Blushing Martini requires very minimal effort for maximum output. But if you want to jazz it up even more, consider some food and music pairings. “I’d be serving an epic cheese platter with this cocktail, or some prawns and oysters. Anything fresh,” Emma explains As for music, the sky’s the limit, but we suggest taking a page out of Emma’s book and opting for some fun pop. “We’re definitely listening to Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and, of course, Rihanna.”
