The Chocolate Temptation cocktail

Impress your guests with this cocktail that’s the ultimate stand-in for dessert.

About the cocktail

Crazy about chocolate? Then this is the cocktail for you. It’s a deliciously decadent sweet treat that’s a dessert in itself. Happily, this cocktail is also easy to make in larger quantities, which means you can whip it up and pour it out for all your dinner guests. We think it might even be more impressive than serving up any old cake or other traditional dessert – and it’s a whole lot more fun, too.

Over-the-top indulgent cocktails may have had their time in the sun several decades ago, but for any sweet-tooths out there, they still deliver a delicious drinking experience that shouldn’t be overlooked. And while you may not be about to blitz up one of these cocktails on any old night, this is a drink that always impresses when hosting or entertaining. Even those who say they aren’t really into desserts might just be won over by this cocktail.

  3. Garnish with grated or broken chocolate on top

Dan’s top tips

This is an unashamedly sweet drink and intentionally so. But if you do want to pull back on the richness here, then have a play with the ratios. There aren’t many ingredients involved, but even a little more ice in the blender can help reduce the sweet factor.

Then again, this cocktail is really one for the chocoholics, and there is always a way to dial it up even further. Feel free to get creative. Anything chocolate is encouraged as a garnish, from chocolate straws to flakes on top to a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Could this actually be the ultimate cocktail for Easter? Serve it as it comes, or perhaps even pour it into giant Easter eggs so people can enjoy the whole thing. Too much? You be the judge.
