The grapes were crushed and de-stemmed into fermenters. The winemaker pumped the fermenters twice a day to maximise colour, tannin and flavour extraction. Yeast was added and after crushing was put into a mix of French and American oak to mature for 12 months. Leafy varietal aroma is balanced by ripe plum, licorice and subtle eucalyptus characters on the nose. Beautiful dark fruits and soft tannins dominate the palate. Maturation in French oak gives spices and cedar characters. The wine has a good acidity and structure with a long persistence on the finish.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Richly fruited with attractive complexity, the wine shows dark fruit intensity, smoked meat, toasted spice, and cedar characters on the nose. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight and persistence, wonderfully framed by silky texture and grainy tannins, finishing splendidly long and robust.
