About this product
2021 Marani Saperavi: A Bold Taste of Georgian Wine Heritage
Discover the 2021 Marani Saperavi, a true masterpiece in the world of Georgian wines, renowned for its bold, juicy flavors and rich history. The name Saperavi, meaning “paint” or “dye,” reflects the grape's deeply pigmented skin and vibrant, red-tinged juice—creating wines as visually stunning as they are flavorful.
Hailing from Georgia—the birthplace of winemaking, with an 8,000-year-old tradition—this wine is like a liquid time capsule, offering a sip of ancient history in every glass.
Crafted with Precision and Passion
The winemaking process begins with hand-selected grapes picked at peak ripeness. Each grape is carefully de-stemmed and fermented under optimal conditions, with advanced techniques like délestage and remontage ensuring a perfect balance of color, flavor, and texture. After malolactic fermentation, a portion of the wine is aged in French oak barrels, adding layers of complexity to this already remarkable vintage.
A Symphony of Flavors in Every Sip
Pour a glass to reveal its deep purple hue and savor bold flavors of blackberries, licorice, smoky spices, and a hint of chocolate. With vibrant acidity and firm tannins, this Saperavi wine is crafted to age beautifully but is equally delightful when enjoyed now.
Perfect Pairings
Fans of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, or Nebbiolo will find a kindred spirit in Saperavi. Pair it with grilled meats, beef, or a show stopping cheese platter, and let it steal the spotlight. As Georgia’s signature grape, Saperavi is ready to captivate your palate and turn every sip into an unforgettable journey.

90 points The Wine Front
Dark cherry, almond chocolate, some fruitcake and spice, mint liquorice, with something a little steely or ferrous. It’s medium to full-bodied, ripe dark cherry, dark bitter chocolate, some dried herb, tannin is ripe and a little smudgy, and the finish offers decent length, some raw almond and prune. It’s an interesting wine, and drinks well. A point of difference here is a thing.
