Amber LaneSleigh Bells 700mL
About this product
This complex expression is a worthy second release, the original being recognised as Gold Medal and Small Batch Single Malt category winner at the 2023 World Whiskies Awards.
Many distilleries vat (mix together) different casks at the end of maturation, just before the point of bottling.Amber Lane applies a different approach.
The spirit is curated via movement through a series of casks throughout the aging process, resulting in beautifully integrated whisky displaying complex layers of flavours, drawn from a range of casks of varying ages and oak types.
In the case of Sleigh Bells, this includes more than 40 casks, many of which previously held Apera, Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry.
Not only has the spirit 'journey' created a profound complexity from a range of sherry styles, but has also benefited from both French oak (Apera) and American oak experiences.
Nose:
an opulent nose of honey, raisins and brandy, accompanied by stewed pear, cinnamon, cardamon, and dried orange peel.
Taste:
a delicious and balanced combination of toffee, honeycomb, dark chocolate, dates, rhubarb, brown sugar, pecan pie and salted caramel.
Finish:
long, rich and deeply satisfying.
