About this product

Immerse yourself in the exquisite finesse of Yabby Lake Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021, a 750ml masterpiece from the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Crafted by acclaimed winemaker Tom Carson, this Pinot Noir is sourced from blocks 1, 2, 5, and 8, planted on light sandy clay loam soils, hand-picked between March 10-20, 2021. With 10% whole bunches, the fruit underwent natural fermentation in oak vats, maturing 11 months in French oak 500L barrels (20% new), using clones 70% MV6, 25% G5V15, and 5% D4V2, at 13% ABV. The 2021 vintage, marked by a wet winter and temperate summer, reveals a bright crimson hue with intense aromas of raspberry, red currant, and dark cherries, accented by floral and spice notes. The palate is medium-bodied, silky, and complex, offering bramble, black cherries, and prosciutto, with mushroom and smoked-meat undertones, finishing long and powerful with fine tannins. Rated 95 points by James Halliday, this Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with spice-marinated beef kebabs or charcuterie, with 5+ years of cellaring potential. A collector’s gem reflecting Yabby Lake’s legacy as a Jimmy Watson Trophy winner.
