Inspired by the land’s ancient Mayan heritage, Cihuatán originates from the only distillery in El Salvador and is a ‘true handcrafted’ aged rum. From cane to bottle the Cihuatán staff are involved in every stage of production and under the guidance of Gabriela Ayala, they ensure a top quality product is guaranteed every time. Cihuatán Cinabriois a rum crafted as an homage to Kinich Ahau, Mayan god of the sun. Legend has it that the Sleeping Woman, guardian goddess of the Cihuatán valley, would intercede on behalf of the people of Cihuatán so that Kinich Ahau would energize the valley with his two hummingbirds.
