About this product

We have decided to add a brand new wine this year to our range. n Victoria’s Pyrenees, near Landsborough, the Malakoff Vineyard has become one of the state’s most celebrated grower sites, supplying fruit to a shimmering galaxy of winemaking stars. Owned and managed by father and son viticultural team Robert and Cameron John, the site was first celebrated by Northern Rhône superstar Michel Chapoutier when he saw the potential for greatness in Victorian gold country, but it is now perhaps better known for supplying nebbiolo and shiraz to more recognisably local maker. We have managed to get an allocation of this fruit this year and Ray has made this awesome Victorian style Shiraz for Hentyfarm Colour: Bright red with garnet tinge Bouquet: Soft peppercorns with savoury spice Palate: Rich savoury front palate with soft tannins and spicy backbone, reminds me of Rhone with a distinctly Australian edge, finishes nicely. Would be terrific with BBQ meats, lamb and beef particularly. Cellaring: This wine will last for ages, with the acid holding it nicely for at least 5-10 years
