Among the more loosely knit and free-flowing reds of the Vinifera suite, marked by vanilla/bourbon scents of older American oak where it sat for 9 months. Oak handling can be aggressive at this address, but this works well. Red/blue-fruit allusions, some orange peel, mocha, sweet earth and clove scents drawn to a gentle tension by a bow of acidity, peppery and juicy enough in the context.
