The inaugural release in the exclusive Single Cask Series, the Cape Byron 'Tawny Cask' is a highly limited and unique Australian single malt whisky. Crafted in partnership with Scottish Master Distiller Jim McEwan and co-founder Eddie Brook, this expression embodies the individuality and terroir of the Byron Bay hinterland.
This exceptional whisky was matured for three and a half years in a single Chardonnay Tawny Cask from Dutschke Wines in South Australia. Bottled at a robust 53.8% ABV, this cask-strength release offers a bold and intimate tasting experience.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich fruitcake with bursts of orange, dried apple, and apricot, complemented by notes of creme brulee and chocolate.
Palate: Begins with a velvety hazelnut cream, leading to lively bursts of candied orange. It transitions into a rich palate of apricot, triple-choc caramel biscuit, and juicy red jubes.
Finish: A rich, lingering finish with layers of toffee, mocha, and a variety of oak spices.
