Heirloom VineyardsMcLaren Vale Shiraz 2021
About this product
Dark, dense, deep purple with a bright blue-violet rim edge.
Aroma
Cinnamon, white chocolate, fresh soft green herbs at Winter’s very end; rich, ripe plums and the smell of plum skins. Minerals, slate and freshly sharpened lead pencils - 2B. A deft and dovetailed integration of shiraz fruit aromatics and winemaker wizardry. The aromatics remain prominent, as they should.
Palate
Textural red wine with subatomic sized tannins in multitudinous proportions. Yet whilst they are everywhere they are so tiny as to play a strangely background, insouciant role. This texture provides a wonderful graphite quality, helping to define the rounded black and berried fruits, which are furthermore tightened by a keen linear scribe of acidity.
Overall
This red wine is evidence of McLaren Vale’s best shiraz being such a versatile companion to foodstuffs. A ratatouille? A roasted chicken? Rump of beef turned into a kebab with a yoghurt sauce?

Vintage 2021
93 points points The Real Review
Ink black from core to rim. A rich nose of blackberry, mocha, and anise spices. Palate is full and weighty with gravelly tannins to control its exuberance. Good length and flow with a smoked meat character building into the finish.
