About this product

This Heirloom Vineyards Riesling was produced from our best Eden Valley Vineyard whose clones and viticulture embody the very best in cutting edge but old school viticulture and winemaking. Hand tended vines, sorted bunch- by-bunch, naturally fermented free run juice, and bottled immediately to retain the purity of the fruit.

COLOUR

Clear, cloudless and bright with the barest tint of a crystal, pale-green straw hue. When it catches the light it makes you gaze in wonder...

AROMA

A luminous lullaby of olfaction and aromatics that skips about from fragrance to floral to perfume to scent. There’s a muskiness and talcum minerality providing depth and edge to the honey dew, candied lemon peel and grapefruit pith fruit tang. It is Eden Valley in all its vernal glory, with those classic, deeper, hidden qualities of custard and toast lurking in the undergrowth, waiting to emerge with bottle age.

PALATE

This is a pure, unalloyed core of concentrated Eden Valley Reisling fruit. Ripe Capri lemons dominate a fresh and light front palate before real body and fruit-depth take over the mid-palate, introducing wet river stone minerality and the fresh, firm flavour of a just-plucked green apple. Acidity pinballs around keeping the mouthfeel trim and tightly-etched, which is exactly as one would expect when enjoying old vine Eden Valley Riesling.
