Miyagikyo Single Malt is described as one of the most delightful no age statement whiskies presented by Nikka in 2015.
Using less peaty malt, this whisky is distilled in a pot still heated by indirect steam at a low temperature. Miyagikyo Single Malt has an elegant fruitiness and a distinctive aroma with a notable sherry cask influence.
This bottling has replaced the entire Miyagikyo core range: the 10-year, 12-year and 15-year old expressions.
Nose:Light and fruity. Notes of vanilla and fudge followed by apricots and a hint of lemons.
Palate:Light-bodied and smooth spice. Lemon and vanilla flavours come to the fore, followed by notes of fudge and marzipan. Sweet spice is omnipresent with smoked wood.
Finish:Medium length and pleasantly warming. Lemon flavours are again very prominent, together with the ubiquitous wood spice.
