Vineyard:50% Grenache from Zuzolo Vineyard, Plains Rd, Sellicks Hill, 30% Shiraz from Klaveniek Vineyard on McMurtrie Road, and 20% from Rogers Rd at Sellicks Hill.
Soils:Zuzolo vineyard is on the Willunga Escarpment on Orange/Brown Piedmont clay loam with rock layers dispersed throughout the profile consisting of Quartzite, Sandstone, Shale, and Quartz from the Ngaltinga Formation. Klaveniek is cracking Bay of Biscay soil from the Kurrajong formation and Rogers Road Vineyard is Christies Beach geology formation on sandy loam.
Harvest Date:28 March (Grenache), 15 March (Shiraz), 26 March (Mourvedre)
Winemaking:All varieties were fermented separately and aged 9 months in seasoned French oak before the final blend, which happened just before bottling.
Nose:The nose offers elegant and attractive aromas of red berries, plums, white pepper, and black olives.
Palate:The palate is vibrant and complex with red berries and plums, followed by a long, smooth finish.
Cellaring:Drink now to 2029.
