Talk about structure. Little else gets a look in. Tannin doesn’t come as a hard wrench but it comes in waves. There is flavour here and it’s savoury, varietal, leathery, a little coffeed. But this is a wine for the structuralists. I tasted it over the course of 24 hours and it had far more to offer on day two; decanting is most definitely advised. Interesting wine. It puts the gristle into sinew.

Medium to light red to brick-red, a deeper and more youthful colour than this maker's other nebbs. The bouquet is also elusive but has some faded flower, dried herb and pot-pourri notes, the palate intense, robust and structured, with a backbone of firm but ripe tannins. It has a bit more grip than this maker's other nebbiolos. Very good. It seems more backward, denser but less detailed, needing more time and holding something in reserve. (Clone Mat 7)
