It's quite slippery and gliding and flows from entry to finish. The tannins and acidity doing the work from the shadows, away from the spotlight. There's an easy deliciousness to this wine.

From the Otways Hinterland. 95/5% shiraz/viognier, 75/25% destemmed/whole bunches. Cold soaked for 5 days, wild-yeast fermented in open-top fermenters, matured for 12 months in French oak (25% new). Already boasts a wealth of deep, dark intensity and it is very much still coming together. Blackberry, dark cherry, ripe plum with a touch of raspberry pastille lift and pepper, it presents an energetic cool-climate interpretation of shiraz. Fine, even tannins bring the lively young one to a close.
