Soft and fluid but sheeted with fine-grained tannin. It offers a satisfying volume of mid-weight flavour but it's both neat as a pin and nuanced with complex meat, ground coffee, five-spice and roasted nut flavours. All these characters hang off jellied fruits, juicy and delicious. We're in good territory here.

Wine geeks may be interested to know that this wine was produced from the Best's Old Block shiraz clone; an historic clone noted for its fragrance and depth of flavour. The Liv Zak amply displays both of these attributes in addition to its vibrant, compact and balanced nature. Mid-weight and skilfully tuned, it boasts spiced red and dark fruit, toasted oak, a soft dried herb underlay and gentle tannins.
