Hand picked from a single estate vineyard in Marananga, planted 2012. Wild fermented, basket pressed, matured 9 months in one seasoned French oak hogshead. No SO2 until bottling; unfined and unfiltered. A tiny production of young-vine nero that leaps from the glass in its youthful enthusiasm. Exquisite, upfront satsuma plum and black cherry fruit of just-picked deliciousness are neatly framed in fine-grained tannins. French oak plays a perfectly supportive role (difficult to nail with only one barrel to play with) but spot-on. It finishes short, as young vines do – but when they grow up, look out!
