Barrel fermented and matured for 4 months in used French oak, the extra time in bottle has increased the complexity without diminishing the herbal/cut grass/green pea fruit. A wine of presence and power. 13% alc, screwcap.

I think it was formerly fume, but now just Sauvignon, though it still seems like that style. Sauvignon is a bit of a dark horse grape for the Yarra Valley. Spice, some jalapeño, gooseberry and grapefruit. Tight, tangy grapefruit and gooseberry, flinty, a lot of crunch and some pithy bitterness, cool acidity, and a passionfruit finish of precision and excellent length. Really good, in a more assertive, yet age-worthy style.
