Pretty much everything you could expect from young cabernet. Fresh dark-berried fruit, able support from French oak barrels adding cedar, toast and spices, tannins powdery and fine plus a bright acidity that adds length to its linear structure. Good now, will improve.

The dark purple, intensely concentrated 2017 The Bartondale Cabernet Sauvignon includes 8% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot. Gentle herbal notes appear on the nose, adding nuance to the cassis fruit. The oak remains in the background throughout, just as a reminder that this is wine, not grape juice. It's full-bodied and velvety-textured yet surprisingly crisp on the finish. It should evolve gracefully for at least a decade.
