Fraser Gallop EstateMargaret River Malbec 2018
About this product
Dark purple colour. Aromas of violets, spice and cocoa. Medium-bodied with lovely damson plums and boysenberries on the palate.
2018 is the very first release of our Malbec. After destemming, the Malbec grapes were transferred directly to the 500L puncheons used the previous year for our Palladian Cabernet for fermentation, plunged daily then pressed gently and returned to barrel for maturation for 14 months.

The Clare Valley, Langhorne Creek and Margaret River share what is often regarded as a second-rate variety, its best use as a blend component. Well, there are enough very good, fleshy dark fruits to prove it's capable of making really pleasing wines. This, with its plush fruits and ripe tannins, proves the point.
