Vintage
A blend of shiraz, tempranillo and barbera, from McLaren Vale, South Australia. Maturation in French and American oak. Fats Holla is grape picker at the Hastwell and Lightfoot winery and this is his pick of their wines. An unusual blend of grapes usually associated with Australia/France, Spain, and Italy. Mid-crimson to the eye, purple-edged. Aromatic with raspberry and blackberry notes and a hint of oak vanillin. It is medium to full-bodied in the mouth and nicely textured with youthful tannins. Flavours are in the ripe red berry spectrum with maybe a hint of chocolate, well-supported by a background of oak. The wine has good length and finishes smoothly. 92/100.
