Greenstone ReserveShiraz 2015
About this product
clove spice are present in the aromatics. A light pretty note of sage herb provides a pleasant sweetness. The palate is rich and ripe in all its characters. A touch of ground white pepper spice adds an element of edge to what is a perfectly
balanced wine. Generosity of fruit and firmness in the texture is defined by the rich grainy tannins. The wine has a density and richness yet is also elegant and refined. Chocolate and roasted chestnut sweetness rise through the finish to round out this wine. A Shiraz of this standing will benefit cellaring for 15+years, while still rewarding in its youth.

This shiraz seems determined, on a scale from one to 10, to take things to 11. It's bold with fruit from the outset, all redcurrant and sweet plum, though almost as soon as it takes flight a crush of creamy, coffeed oak and associated spice notes rush in. It's a heady display, egged on by mint and peppercorn characters, though superfine tannin does a deft job at tapping it all into line. In truth it's just starting to hit its straps; it should unfurl regally over the next handful of years.
