Greenstone EstateYarra Valley Chardonnay 2019
About this product
The Yarra Valley vineyard is situated at the foot of the Christmas Hills at Yarra Glenn. Our Block A3 Chardonnay (P58 Clone) was planted in 1983 in a north-south direction, across and east facing slope, protecting the fruit from the sun during the heat of the date and as it sets in the west.
Winemaking
The Chardonnay was picked in the cool of the morning, pressed immediately and transferred directly to French oak hogsheads (20% new) for fermentation and maturation on lees for 10 months.
Tasting Note
This Chardonnay is pure, complex and textural. It displays pristine white nectarine, lime and grapefruit aromas and flavours, layered with hazelnut, spice and flinty complexity. It can be enjoyed now and will continue to improve with cellaring over the next 5 years and beyond.

95 points THE REAL REVIEW
From the oldest block of clone P58, fermentation in French hogsheads (35% new), matured on lees for 10 months. Bright, youthful hue; elegant from start to finish, the fruit driving the show without even pausing for breath. Will become more ballsy with a few more years in bottle.

90 points The Real Review
Stuart Know (The Real Review) White flowers and some crushed oyster shell on the nose. Tightly-coiled orchard fruits keep a narrow focus across the palate. A nice drive and lift into some oak-smoke notes lingering on the finish
