Onkaparinga GrenacheClarendon Hills 2015
About this product
Clarendon Hills makes an array of 6 single vineyard old vine Grenache each from 80-100 year old vineyards. The Onkaparinga Grenache vineyard is located within the foothills of McLaren Vale and was planted in the 1920's atop some of the worlds oldest geology. The result is truly magical. Low yieldiing dry grown vines produce a wine of incredible intensity with pure strawberry and black cherry fruit intertwined with bursts of raspberry like acidity while floral characters dance atop smokey house bricks. The Onkaparinga vineyard features within Clarendon Hills' Grand Cru classification system and is one of the ultimate examples of single vineyard Grenache in the world.

The 2015 Onkaparinga Grenache shows amaro-like complexity in its aromas of orange rind and Asian spices, then it adds ripe strawberries to the mix. It's full-bodied, rich and concentrated; tannic but oh so good, it ends with almost reverberating vitality and tremendous length.
