Make no mistake, the winemaking here is very good. A ripe expression, without any sacrifice of cab’s personality: blackcurrant, mulch, tapenade and mint, corralled by sweet, vanillin oak. Oak tannins mark the finish. A bit drying. But there is thrust, energy and length, all the same. At least for now.
