FlowstoneMargaret River Moonmilk Shiraz Grenache 2021
About this product
The early drinking red wine has had its high and low periods, yet there are still classic wines of the world made as just this - specifically Beaujolais, the Joven (juvenile) wines of Spain and fantastic blends from the southern Rhone. An early drinking red wine is nothing to be ashamed of - it is a celebration of the season!
Tasting note
Appearance: deep and vibrant red/purple, with purple notes. The colour is extraordinarily dense, and full of vibrance.
Aroma: plums, mulberries, poached strawberries, red fruits, lifted cherry notes, spice and dark chocolate. An engaging and enticing array of aromatics that is very hard to put down.
Palate: generous and soft, with bright fresh flavours. The flavours are surprisingly complex as they evolve from one to another. There is great length of flavour and texture, and abundant, but soft, juicy tannins. This wine drinks fantastically now, and will for some years.
Food ideas: slow cooked pulled pork with braised vegetables, duck pizza, shepherd’s pie, lamb chops with pistachio couscous, while you are waiting for the bbq to warm up.
Drink: Now and over the next 12 years.

70/25/5% shiraz/grenache/viognier. All varieties treated separately. Matured 10 months in a combination of old barriques and Cognac barrels (older than 20 years). This wine is brilliant. Suffice to say - the complex vinification effort was worth it. Buy it if you can find it. 215 cases.
