There is a hint of orange blossom on the bouquet, it is subtle and plays understudy to an almost savoury herbaceous tone. There is generosity to this wine that people accustomed to NZ styles will find almost unbelievable. There is a laziness to the manner in which this wine flows through, across and around the palate. A breadth and length that persists longer than expected. There is a fruit pudding-like flavour, in that it is both sweet and savoury at once. Hints of asparagus with lemon, but there is a distinct shyness to this wine that speaks volumes of it’s longevity and reward for short term aging.
At 14.8%, this is a wine equally at home as a well-chilled aperitif or as an accompaniment to lighter entrees and canapes, salmon and quiche it’s best company
