Reserve Riverland Shiraz 2022

This Durif is inky mahogany in colour with garnet and purple tints. It has aromas of violets, raspberries and blackberries, stewed plums, cherry rhubarb, white pepper, spice and a hint of mint. The palate is rich and very full, with mouth-filling texture of fine vanillin oak and powdery chocolate tannins. The flavours are well balanced with crushed berries, cherries, chocolate, liquorice and spice, mint and jube and a fresh acidity. May be cellared 8-15 years. Serve at room temperature, paired with with beef, kangaroo, or (surprisingly) mulberry pavlova.
