Gladstone VineyardDakins Road Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018
About this product
We ran the wine through a very coarse filter. We didnt fine the wine with chemical or natural protein agents as we let time do the work during the maturation phase.
Expert Reviews:
92 Points Vibrant and alluring bouquet of Pinot with aromas of vanilla and sweet oak then dark berries, strawberry and red cherry, fermented red flowers and silty mineral soils. On the palate - the tannins and acid line show first, but only for a few moments then the red berry, cherry and brown spices blend in. A layer of soft smoky oak and earthy mineral flavours add to the texture and flavour and finish. A balanced and well made wine with medium weight, medium+ intensity and lengthy finish. Drink now and through 2023. - Cameron Douglas MS.
5-Stars Finely scented, the debut 2018 vintage was matured for a year in French oak casks (35% new). Bright ruby, it is a savoury, youthful, well-structured red, with cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity, and a long life ahead. Best drinking 2021+ - Michael Cooper

This is splendidly complex and soothing; the bouquet shows dark cherry, cake spice, almond, earthy mushroom and vanilla characters. It's equally impressive on the palate, offering terrific fruit intensity combined with velvety mouthfeel and seamlessly integrated tannins, leading to a lengthy sophisticated finish. At its best: now to 2025.

"A robust and structured palate finishes with a vibrant, distinguished acidity coupled with silky smooth chocolatey tannins. The heady 2018 Dakins Road Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is a full-bodied effort loaded with black cherries and plummy fruit. It's mouth-filling and seriously ripe, with supple tannins that verge on being creamy in texture and flavours that veer toward dark chocolate and liquorice on the powerful finish. Concentrated and lush."
