Distilled in 2014 and bottled 9 years later in 2024 at 48% for La Masion Du Whisky's Artist Collective Series 7, this Bunnahabhain has been matured in a combination of four recharred hogsheads.
The nose displays rich notes of oily sea spray and salted peat alongside roasted chocolate and light Sichuan pepper.
The palate brings lively yet creamy smoke, sleet and again oily peat with a refreshingly salty tone throughout.
The finish is long, rich and initially coated in soot before candied pear, apple and pineapple appear with creamy malt and meat drawing the whisky to a close.
Overall this Bunnahabhain captures the beauty of Islay whisky, balancing its bright peat, fruit and malt flavours seamlessly. It is a must try for any lovers of great young peated whisky.
