Through The GrapevinVallein Tercinier 1987 Cognac Single Cask 700mL
About this product
In 1791, Louis Vallein bought the Domaine des Forges estate in the French commune of Chermignac. In 1850, Georges Vallein began selling the property's cognac. Today, Catherine and Louis Vallein Tercinier preside over the future of this legendary cognac house. With huge fruity and floral complexity, the delicately tannic and powdery mouthfeel of this thirty year old cuvée perfectly embodies the rustic, authentic style of cognacs from the Bons Bois terroir.
Profile: the distinguished initial nose is a subtle mixture of quince, apricot and heady florals (carnation). Allowed to breathe, it becomes tertiary (mushroom, lichen). The lively attack reveals a number of citrus fruits (orange, mandarin). The mid-palate is floral (peony) and spicy (nutmeg). The silky finish is vanilla, praline and exotic (mango) Beautiful apricot rancio is found at the very end of the finish.
