About this product
Classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Stylish, rich and ripe fruit flavours
Perfect with salt and pepper calamari

Colour: Pale straw with green tints.
Nose: Aromas of fresh, lifted tropical fruit with grassy hints - yep, it's Marlborough Sav Blanc all right!
Palate: The flavour profile is rich, ripe-fruited and very stylish thanks to the crisp, zippy but integrated acids. Flavours are primarily in bright fruit concentration.
Oak: Unoaked.
Food Match: Salt and pepper calamari with rocket and thinly sliced parmesan cheese.
Winemaker: Sally Blackwell
Drink Until: 2023
In Situ is plain-speak for the French concept terroir - the expression of a place. With its distinctive tropical fruit-driven characters and herbaceous pungency, this couldn't be from anywhere else but Marlborough. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has been such an international success that other countries are taking the wines apart and analysing them in an attempt to find out just what makes them so distinctive. What will they do if they find out - add chemical flavours? Now there's a nasty thought! Fact is, though, the style is unique because the local reflective stony soils and sunny climate increase the ambient temperature around each vine, then the chilly nights give the grapes time to chill out and consolidate their flavours. They can try, but we doubt if anybody will succeed in reproducing those classic Marlborough Savvy characters in the laboratory.
