About this product
5 Star winery
From Wrattonbully
A generously fruit-driven palate
Region: Wrattonbully, South Australia.
Colour: Pale golden straw.
Nose: Lifted aromas of white peach and stone fruits.
Palate: A generously fruit-driven palate with crisp refreshing acidity balanced by subtle oak complexity providing a generous finish.
Oak: French oak puncheons for 8 months.
Food Match: Crispy skin barramundi with a mango, chilli and coriander salsa
Winemaker: Gwyn Olsen
Drink Until: 2024
Despite some nail-biting brushes with frost, 2019 turned out to be an excellent vintage and
produced arguably the best wines from the area since 2004. There were cool early season conditions followed by hot weather in January and February. This had marginal impact on our vineyard and by the time ripening was well underway in March, conditions had cooled considerably. This led to one of the longest ripening seasons for many years and the last fruit was harvested in May. The long 'hang time' led to fruit of great flavour and balance. Chardonnay, Viognier and Pinot Gris were all very good.
