WillowbrookCoonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
About this product
Classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon
Ripe blackcurrant, cherry and plum flavours
Excellent cellaring potential
Region: Coonawarra, South Australia
Colour: Deep bright ruby with purple hues.
Nose: Lifted aromas of ripe plums, cassis and a very light touch of herbs and light earthiness - very typical of the region. Integrated french oak maturation has added a cedary edge to the bouquet which is very enticing.
Palate: This is a wine with cellaring potential. The palate is young right now - tightly structured with potential to open up into an outstanding wine. Rich varietal fruit characters of ripe blackcurrant, cherry and some plums. Well integrated French oak provides depth and complexity, offering well balanced tannins and cedar wood nuances. The flavour is long and lingering with a delightful fruit and oak tannin backbone.
Oak: French oak staves and some barrel maturation.
Food Match: Roast lamb rump with mint jelly.
Winemaker: Matthew Reimann
Drink Until: 2024
With all of the ideal ingredients for the growing of premium fruit it is no wonder that Coonawarra is in a class of its own when it comes to Cabernet Sauvignon. Coonawarra wines will always be among Australia's greatest wines, for their richness, intensity and great depth of flavour.
