McLean's FarmReserve Barossa Valley Shiraz Grenache Mataro 2018
About this product
In the Barossa, the personalities can be as big as the wines they produce. They don't come much bigger than Bob McLean who for many years was the face of St Hallett, which grew into one of the Barossa's most recognisable names. Bob had his own winery, McLean's Farm, which gained legendary status in his lifetime. With access to some of the best fruit in the Barossa, Bob's wines are truly superb (Bob would settle for nothing less!). Reflecting this commitment to quality, the winery has been given an impressive four-star rating James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion 2009.Bob McLean is a firm believer in the compatibility of Shiraz and the Barossa Valley, also in its ability to produce a variety of styles. He personally cannot understand why it is not a focus of more major producers!
Colour: Deep red with purple hues.
Nose: Ripe aromas of dark berry fruits with integrated notes of vanillin spice.
Palate: Full flavoured Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro rich with flavours of black berries and plum fruit. Spicy, vanillin oak adds further depth to the soft, velvety tannins on the long lingering finish.
