About this product

Varietals: 52% Tempranillo 37% Grenache 10% Graciano
The “Special Project” was inspired by the wines of Northern Spain. The wine was made in line with the principles of our Rhone core, however, due to the Spanish influence the wine is a “Black Sheep” of our Ulithorne family. The Specialis is earthy and brambly with fresh cherries, plums, and a hint of dried spice. It’s a savoury wine with chewy tannins, good flavour persistence, and balanced acidity. The addition of a small parcel of Graciano to the blend added complexity with a touch of dried herbs and spice.
Nose: Blueberry, red currant and dark cherry aromas.
Palate: The fresh palate is medium weight with juicy red and darker fruits, hints of dried herbs and firm savoury
tannins.

Alcohol: 14.1% pH: 3.49 Acidity: 6.6g/L

Vinification: Tempranillo from two of our growers, Grenache from our Kays Road, Blewitt Springs vineyard, and a
very small lot of Graciano were fermented in small open fermenters with hand plunging twice a day before gentle
pressing.

Oak: Matured in older French and American oak barrels for ten months before blending.
Cellaring Potential: Drink now to 2027.
