About this product

Regional Reds 6 pack includes:

  • Botham 80 Series Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 (ABV 14.5%): This wine certainly has plenty of classic fairly cool-climate Cabernet characters, from blackcurrant to mint and cedar. It is youthful and ready to drink, but has potential to evolve and gain complexity with another 3-5 years in the bottle. Dense, brambly characteristics mingle with black cherry, mulberry and aromatic cedar on a full-bodied, beautifully structured palate with brilliant intensity and length. This wine’s classic characters will mingle beautifully with rosemary braised lamb shanks. Drink now or cellar until 2024.

  • Warner's Corner by Leconfield Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 (14%): There’s a lot to love in this magnificent Cabernet Sauvignon! From a 5 Red Star James Halliday-rated winery, and grown in the famed Terra Rossa soils of Coonawarra’s cool-climate, it’s incredibly easy-drinking and remarkably lovely as a table red. Delightful and intriguing aromas of vibrant cassis and luscious dark berry mingle attractively with subtle oakiness, delightful fruit sweetness and elegant tannins. Pair it with meaty Italian pasta dishes. Drink now or cellar until 2032.

  • Mockingbird Hill Slate Lane Clare Valley Shiraz 2016 (ABV 15%): It is the tannins that impress here. Gritty, firm and finely coffee ground across a ferrous mineral underbelly. This is a highly impressive regional shiraz. A complex and charismatic nose of decadent dark berry and subtle spice deliver ample fruit on the palate with lashings of licorice and a hint of coffee and mocha flavour. Fine tannins, elegant oak and impeccable structure abound. The rich palate of this Clare Valley charmer is fantastic for hearty Sunday roasts with all the trimmings. Drink now or cellar until 2025.

  • Wordsmith Single Vineyard Heathcote Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 (ABV 14.5%): This is Wine Merchant Walter Henao's pick of the pack, “An award winning single vineyard Cabernet expression. Rich, robust and powerful, classic Heathcote. Great aging potential given its concentration and intensity. Will benefit from decanting or aerating ... Deep inky colour. Aromas of blueberries, liquorice, kalamata olives and charred oak. Excellent structure on the palate with blackfruit, nutmeg spice and dried tobacco leaves. Muscular grippy tannins and persistent long finish.” Pair this wine with, “Osso Buco, slow cooked beef cheek, or beef stew.” Drink now or cellar until 2025.

  • Schulz The Boulevard Barossa Shiraz 2017 (ABV 14.5%): Named for an exclusive strip of Barossan soil, widely renowned for its quality grape production, The Boulevard carries the mantle with all the grace it deserves. Made by sixth generation winemakers, it’s an excellent addition to any collection. Deep dark fruit with beautifully integrated spice and vanillin oak on the nose leads to a velvety palate of ripe red and blueberries supported by sumptuous oak. Pair it with Veal Soffrito, a slowly-simmered Italian-style stew. Drink now or cellar until 2025.

  • Maverick Twins Barossa Shiraz 2017 (ABV 14.5%): This one is positively built for the BBQ - and it’s one of those Shiraz options that is guaranteed to please, particularly if you pair it with a juicy steak fresh off the grill. Don’t miss it. Absolutely everything you’d expect to find in a solid Barossa Shiraz is abundant in this beauty. Vibrant, fleshy fruit, a nip of spice and plenty of textural nuance, it’s a fantastic red for spring and summer. A classic Barossa - pair it with a spectacular steak. Drink now or cellar until 2024.
