ProsperitasCoonawarra Reds Mixed Case
About this product
6 impeccably delicious wines from the Coonawarra's red, fertile, terra rossa soil.
Included in the case:
3 x 2018 Prosperitas Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine reveals all the hallmarks of the variety in its richer, darker-fruited, textured mood. Intense and concentrated with black olive notes, lifted with prettier inferences of the violet, lavender and mint spectrum of herbs, all classic expressions from the variety. There are other more oak-derived suggestions too like dark cacao chocolate which adds depth of character to the mouthfeel and finish.
"Wonderfully ripe and beautifully composed, the wine shows blackcurrant, dark cherry, dried herb, olive and toasted nut characters on the nose, leading to an immediately appealing palate that’s succulent and plump. It’s splendidly weighted and lingering, elegantly framed by chalky tannins. At its best: now to 2028." - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Bright and youthful in the glass. The nose speaks of the variety and the region - Ribena with a dried herb sinew, cedary oak and leafy savouriness. Finely-fleshed with blue and purple berries sliding into fine-grained, chalky tannins. Will age with grace." - Nick Butler, The Real Review
3 x 2016 Prosperitas Coonawarra Shiraz
The Coonawarra perhaps flies a little under the shiraz radar, though here you have discovered an absolute gem from an elegant northern district site which has brought to the fore delightful crimson berry and plum fruit crush characters in a medium to full bodied carriage, spot-on evidence that Coonawarra shiraz can express cooler-climate sensibilities. As these notes reverberate with fresh, zesty red fruit flavours, the wine’s undercurrent of soft, yet lively, acidity and tannin add a great line and length to the drinking. Delicious, and right in the pocket of contemporary shiraz expression.
"The wine offers terrific fruit intensity together with fine polished tannins, making the wine flavoursome and beautifully harmonious. At its best: now to 2026." - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Deep red colour with a good purple tint. The bouquet is rich, ripe plum, the palate also deep and fleshy, and reliant on fruit rather than artifact. A good wine, balanced and accessible at this stage but with some ageing potential." - Huon Hooke, The Real Review
