Made with 95% Tempranillo grapes and 5% Viura (white grape) from Rioja-Alta (480-490 m over the sea level) using only selected grapes from four specific vineyards with very special terroir.
This rare combination Tempranillo-Viura brings a new chemistry in the wine, promoting the interaction of the tannin and anthocyanins, creating an intense red color, increasing the sweetness of the wine and helping to maintain a good acidity and freshness.
Aged for 12 months in French Oak barrels and a later aged for an extra 3 month in American Oak Barrel, completing the ageing in bottle for 1 more year in perfect cellar conditions, achieving the distinction of CRIANZA. This wine is only produced in very good vintages, that's why it's also classified as VENDIMIA SELECCIONADA (selected vintage) and the maximum production in average is 25,000 bottles every time it's released.
The color is darker, like black-cherry red with a slight tawny rim. In the nose intense touches of candied orange peel, aromatic herbs, black fruits and cherry. In the mouth you will find a Full-bodied wine with some richness of texture, good acidity, warming and intense.
