Produced with dolcetto and shiraz fruit sourced from Victoria's high country, the wine initially presents as a thoroughly delicious, juicy fruited, easy going, drink now and forget about it kind of vino. Closer examination reveals some underlying darker, earthier notes and depth brought about, no doubt, by the shiraz component. It’s medium bodied and richly textured with warm and spicy dark cherry flavours. “Versatility” could be its middle name, with dishes as varied as wood-fired pizza and venison ragu being good matches. Enjoying it on its own, with friends, is a pretty good option, too.
