Adina VineyardEstate Shiraz 2017
About this product
Our wine is estate grown and “unlike” wine from other regions.
The 2017 Shiraz is superbly crafted and is a testament to the soft and light style that we produce in the Hunter. The ripening variation stems from the climate in the Hunter which is “warm and slightly humid” unlike other “dry” regions which are often classified as “hot” or “cold” climates.
The flavour comes from the soil which is red clay and ancient with trace elements, and also the viticulture practice which is for minimal cropping as opposed to high density. Minimal cropping leads to better quality grapes, pertinent to humid areas, whereas high density has its own microclimate of humidity and only works in dry areas where irrigation is controlled.
Our 2017 Estate Shiraz is a medium bodied and full-flavoured red wine with a slight pepperiness on the back palate.
